Color Matching: It's Easy
Fenty has a 50-shade range, so matching my skin to my foundation color was easy. The website has an in-depth shade finder that breaks down each shade (light, medium, and dark) and highlights each undertone. You can also choose to know your shade with a different foundation brand so that the website will match your best match.
My skin tone is 420 and it matches my skin perfectly.
Ingredients: Mattifying
Fenty Beauty claims that the Soft Matte foundation has sweat-resistant technology. This combination of silicones and polymers gives it grip and allows it to stay put. It is rich in silica, papaya, and pineapple extracts. This foundation is ideal for oily skin. This foundation contains salts (sodium chloride, magnesium sulfate) for dry skin.
The Feel: Rich, Creamy
The formula works as expected from a foundation at the first pump. The Pro Filt 'r soft matte long-wear foundation was creamy. It matted my skin almost immediately after application.
The Pro Filt'r Hydrating long-wear foundation, on the other hand, reminded me of a balm. It felt incredibly hydrating once it was applied. I was blessed with combination skin. There wasn't any shine, just a dewy, hydrated complexion.
The Results: A Natural Look
Being wary about the foundation, I was pleasantly surprised at how natural the application felt. Although some of my dark spots showed through, I was not surprised. My dark spots would disappear if I applied a small amount of concealer.
It was easy to match my skin with the foundation without mixing more than one or three shades. Although the matte finish was excellent, my skin texture was more prominent. We are always our most harsh critics, at least for me. The Pro Filt 'r soft matte foundation will be my first choice if I create a look for special events or photos.
On the other hand, the hydrating formula made my skin look more like mine and smoothed out my dark spots and blemishes.
It was necessary to wear foundation. I applied at 10 AM and took follow-up selfies at 6 PM. Atlanta's heat is ideal for testing the foundation's humidity blocking properties. My T-zone did show some shine, but this is normal for people with combination or oily skin. A quick blot quickly removed the excess shine. It also didn't feel sticky or tacky, which was a plus.
The Pro Filt'r Hydrating Longwear Foundation formula is something I love. I like the tinted moisturizer that provides more coverage. It didn't work for me because of its stickiness. This foundation will be back in my collection for the winter. It will be a fantastic foundation.
The Value: It Beats The Heat
The Fenty Beauty Pro Filt'r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation stood up to the 100 percent humidity Georgia experiences in summer. The oil-free formula kept my T-zone matte without the need for powder. It also evened out my skin tone with only two pumps and seamlessly matched my skin.
This foundation does not contain SPF. This is not a problem for me. This proves the foundation's worth, regardless of its $36 price tag.

Before activating Pro Filt’r foundation, shake it well. Pro Filt'r's rich pigments take a while to dry to their actual color. If you're trying out different shades, let it dry entirely before activating. You are faced with the dilemma of choosing between two shades. The lighter shade is better.

Was this a turning point for me? No. Fenty Beauty Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation is the foundation that I will use to improve my beauty look. It evened my skin and lasted in extreme heat and humidity. When the weather is hot, I love having a full coverage foundation.
This one does just that without looking too cakey or heavy. This was my go-to foundation for the majority of the summer, and now that fall has arrived, it’s still a staple in my makeup bag.
